Get ready for Verge.

Confirm the core WebRTC surface Verge needs, prepare a room code, and test camera and microphone access. Screen sharing is reported separately because it is useful but not required to join a call.

1 Browser readiness

Check the platform surface.

Core readiness requires a secure context, WebRTC, media capture, codec preference control, data channels, and secure random identifiers. Screen sharing is optional.

2 Room

Choose a room code.

Room identifiers are routing metadata, not passwords. Generate creates a 128-bit random identifier using the canonical Verge room contract.

Letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens; up to 64 characters.

3 Devices + handoff

Verify capture before the call.

The test uses the same speech-oriented capture profile as the conference client. The browser remains the permission authority.

This page does not upload or record the preview.

Device test has not run yet.

The handoff from this page carries only the room code.
